Walk forward in Faith

Deut. 8:2-3 (ESV) "And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."

The Exodus is not only an ancient story. It is a mirror for our own journey. Salvation brings us out of Egypt, but the path to Canaan leads through a wilderness. There, God refines us. He exposes our idols, breaks our pride, and teaches us to trust Him for daily bread.

Our idols are not golden calves now. They appear as comfort, control, image, or distraction, anything that quietly takes the place of God. The wilderness strips these away until only faith remains.

I believe we are near the Jordan. The world feels unsteady. Creation groans. Truth grows faint. Yet this is the threshold of promise. God’s people have stood here before. The call remains: walk forward in faith.

Let us enter this week with steady hearts and renewed hope. The Lord who led Israel through the desert walks beside us still. He has promised to be with us to the very end.

Shalom, JM
