“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing. It is the gift of God.”
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2 verse 8 and 10
I watched a movie this weekend called An Interview with God. It follows a journalist whose world collapses after his wife commits adultery. He feels angry, betrayed and directionless. In the middle of this pain, he sits across from a man who claims to be God. Their conversations shake him deeply. God not only exposed the wound in his heart, but also healed it. He reveals that the man has forgotten his purpose. He sees only his suffering and not the God who stands ready to restore him. In the end, he chooses forgiveness, and his marriage finds healing again.
Sin clouds our vision. We forget who we are and why we walk this path. We bear His name, yet sometimes misrepresent the One who saved us. Our purpose is not to impress, but to reflect His glory in every step.
Yet grace meets us in the wilderness. In Christ, we are not just forgiven. We are given a new heart and a restored calling. We do not strive to prove ourselves. We walk in the freedom of those who have been rescued by love.
Even when we stumble, Jesus does not leave us behind. He lifts us, strengthens us, and leads us back to the path He prepared before we knew His voice. Our life in Him is not an anxious tryout, but a daily return to God given purpose.
He restores what sin has broken. He renews what guilt would steal. In Him, we rise and walk forward, each day a new chance to glorify God with a grateful heart.
Shalom, JM
