In our day, spiritual truth is often seen as a matter of personal preference. Many voices set different beliefs about God side by side, as if each path leads to the same destination.
This way of thinking is not far from us. Sometimes, even among those who name Christ, I hear a quiet acceptance that other religions might also lead to the one true God.
Paul gives us a firm anchor:
“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11 (ESV)
Paul wrote to a divided church. He used the image of a building to remind them that the foundation had already been set. It is Christ Himself.
Everything that endures in Christian faith rests on Him alone.
Religious pluralism is the belief that different religions can provide equally valid paths to ultimate divine reality. That idea has become increasingly acceptable within our culture. Yet it conflicts directly with the claims of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 (ESV)
The apostles proclaimed the same truth. Acts 4:12 declares that salvation is found in no one else and that God has given no other name by which we must be saved.
Christian faith does not place Jesus among many teachers. It rests on the confession that He is the Son of God and the only Saviour through whom we are reconciled to the Father.
Jesus warned His disciples that spiritual deception would come. Some ideas can sound reasonable while leading people away from the truth God has revealed.
One subtle deception is the thought that we can honour Jesus while also accepting other ways to God. Scripture leaves no room for this.
Christ remains the only foundation.
Ephesians 2:20 describes Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. The whole household of God is built in relation to Him. Remove Christ from His rightful place and the house cannot stand.
This truth shapes how we walk among others.
We honour every person with dignity while speaking about Jesus with clarity. Love compels us to share the gospel gently and with courage. Those who believe every path leads to God need to hear of the One who died for sinners and rose again.
Perhaps someone close to you believes Christianity is simply one path among many.
Bring their name before the Lord today.
Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare their heart and yours. Pray for an open door. If the moment comes, open the Scriptures and point them to Jesus.
We do not need to win arguments. We have been entrusted with the gospel.
There is only one foundation for saving faith.
His name is Jesus Christ.
