“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2 (ESV) In seasons when the heart feels torn between gratitude and sorrow, this truth steadies us again.
Some weeks feel heavier than others. Since Easter, my heart has carried both gratitude and sorrow.
The Cross and the empty tomb remind me again: I am His. Grace has rescued me from darkness and set my life in His hands.
Yet sorrow lingers. The distance from family and the uncertainty of this path have weighed on my spirit. The journey has not looked as I imagined.
Still, the Spirit draws me back. Nearness to God, through His Word and prayer, remains my anchor. He has not failed me. Again and again, He lifts me. This week, He led me to Psalm 121:2.
This is not distant help. It is personal. Present. Faithful. The Lord is our covenant keeper. He does not change. He does not forget. He does not grow weary.
He is not only willing. He is able. The Maker of heaven and earth sustains us when our strength fails, and our hearts grow tired.
Our confidence cannot rest in outcomes or timelines. It rests in the Lord alone. He is our help, yesterday, today, and forever.
As you walk into this week, lift your eyes. Your help is not found in what shifts and fades. Your help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth.
Shalom, Jacques

The Law of Love
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37 to 40. This passage brings us straight back to the heart of faithful living: love.
Wonderfully Made
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:13 to 14) A plunge into the English Channel became a fresh reminder that the human body bears witness to God’s purposeful and breathtaking design.
When the Road Gets Steep
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:1 to 2) When the road rises, and breath grows thin, we are not alone, for this passage calls us to endure by fixing our eyes on Christ.
