“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2 (ESV) Sharing the Gospel can sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to be, but the Gospel does not rest on our cleverness. It rests on Jesus.
Sharing the Gospel can sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to be. We may worry about having the perfect words, the strongest argument, or the right answer to every question. But the Gospel does not rest on our cleverness. It rests on Jesus.
Paul understood this deeply. He did not build his message around himself, his ability, or his wisdom. He centred everything on Christ crucified. The power was not in polished speech, but in the Spirit of God working through the truth of Jesus.
That should encourage us.
We do not need to impress people to share the Good News. We need to be faithful. We need to speak the truth in love, with gentleness, kindness, and respect. Peter reminds us to “always be prepared” to give a reason for the hope within us, but to do so with gentleness and respect.
The message itself remains wonderfully clear.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sin brings death, but God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
And at the heart of it all stands this precious promise:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 (ESV)
This is the Gospel. God loved. God gave. Christ died. Christ rose. Whoever believes in Him receives life.
So this week, let us carry the Good News with renewed courage. Memorise John 3:16. Let it settle deeply into your heart. Keep it ready on your lips. You may not know every answer, but you can point someone to Jesus.
And that is where salvation is found.
Lord Jesus, thank You for the Cross and the empty tomb. Thank You for saving me by Your grace. Holy Spirit, help me understand the Gospel more deeply, live it more faithfully, and share it with gentleness, courage, and love. Amen.
Shalom, Jacques

The Law of Love
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37 to 40. This passage brings us straight back to the heart of faithful living: love.
Wonderfully Made
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:13 to 14) A plunge into the English Channel became a fresh reminder that the human body bears witness to God’s purposeful and breathtaking design.
When the Road Gets Steep
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:1 to 2) When the road rises, and breath grows thin, we are not alone, for this passage calls us to endure by fixing our eyes on Christ.
Blessed Reassurance
Romans 8:38 to 39 (ESV) “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Paul’s words are not wishful thinking.
